Vision Impaired Support Group

A VIP (Vision Impaired Persons) Peer Support Group meets on the third Thursday of the month between 11:30am and 1pm restarting on 19 January.

The purpose of VIP Peer Support Groups is to provide a venue whereby people who are vision impaired or blind can meet other people who are vision impaired or blind, to share experiences and encouragement. The aim of the group is that people will learn from and encourage each other and experience social interaction. Free program, $2 for refreshments. Some transport available.

Peace Meditation

The next Peace Meditation will be held on Saturday, 21 January 2012 from 11:20am until 1pm. Please bring some food to share for our community lunch which is held immediately following the meditation. Free activity.

Heart Foundation Walking

Join us on Monday at 7:30am to 8:30am for an hour's walk from Taplin Park at the end of Thompson Street, Drummoyne. This is an enjoyable way to exercise with other locals in a great location beside the bay. Restarting 6 February 2012. This is a free activity, but registration beforehand is required at the DCC office which is open between 9:30am and 4pm.

Cards & Handicrafts

Canasta Card Players

Newcomers welcome, even if you haven't played before. Every Friday from 1pm till 5pm. Restarting 6 January, then ongoing from 20 January. Members free.

General Craft

This group comprises of women who have a host of crafty talents including knitting, crocheting and card making, along with caring for each other and others, as they donate many of their handicrafts to charity. They meet weekly on Thursday from 1pm till 2:30pm. Restarting 2 February. Fee per session.

Bay Quilters

This keen patchwork quilting group meet on the first and third Saturday of the month from 1:30pm till 4pm. Restarting 21 January. Fee per session.

Men's

Older Men's Group

Join men over 50 for stimulating discussions - from personal to global (but no politics or religion), plus BBQs and social activities. Fortnightly on a Wednesday from 10am till 12:30pm. Restarting 18 January 2012. For more information phone Max on 9181-3918. Fee per session.

Seniors'

Iron Cove Club RSL Day Club

A Seniors' Day Club from 10am till 1:45pm on Monday. Restarting 30 January 2012. Activities include gentle exercise, games, quizzes, entertainment and guest speakers. Morning tea and lunch provided. Transport can be arranged. Book with Bessie on 9713-4142.
