Below is the program for Term 3, 2010. 

  • Drawing: Horses in Myths - the Unicorn, Pegasus and others. Practice sketching and shading the shapes found in regular horses. Draw own 'mythic horse' to collage onto background.
  • Drawing: The Myth of Flying - Icarus, Fairies, Superheroes. Drawing and rendering wings, Produce own 'flying character'.
  • Drawing: Myths from around the World 1: Protectors. St George, Artemis, Cerberus, Green Man of the Forest. Imagination and grid drawing exercises.
  • Drawing: Myths from around the Word 2: Creators. Aboriginal, Indian and Egyptian creation myths. Produce an artwork based on a creation myth.
  • Clay: Mythical Creatures. Create own mythic creature from clay. Paint clay.
  • Papier Mache: Construct and papier mache own 'protector doll' based on 'protector dolls/figurines' from different tribal cultures. Paint and decorate.
  • Papier Mache Group Project: Modern myth. Establish storyline and characters, set the scene for portrayal, create background scene.

On Thursday a 5pm-6pm class for 5 to 12 year olds will be run if there is sufficient interest.
