Mini Outings
Monthly Half-day Outings
Mini outings offer excellent value for money and an opportunity to meet with other local residents in interesting locations. They are intended for people who have difficulty getting out and about. Priority is given to residents of the City of Canada Bay Local Government Area and conditions apply.
There are only eight spaces available on each outing. Phone Amanda between 9.30am and 2pm on Wednesday to Friday to reserve a place.
Each month there are half-day mini outings scheduled. Details of outings during Term 1, 2010 are:
- Sunday 7 March (am) - Outing to visit two 'open gardens' in Drummoyne. Australia's Open Garden Scheme aims to promote the knowledge and pleasure of gardens and gardening across Australia. It does this by opening Australia's most inspiring private gardens to the public. Attendees must be steady on their feet. This outing is not suitable for people with walking frames. Cost is $10 which includes entry to both gardens.
- Sunday 28 March (am) - Visit Concord Garden Club's 56th Autumn Flower, Vegetable and Floral Art Show including Rose and African Violet championships. The show is held at Concord Community Centre. Light refreshments are available for purchase at the show. Cost is $5 which includes entry fee.
